Away from the noise and the crowds of the city, with tapas bars, a supermarket and the beaches of the Mar Menor all an easy drive. Quiet enough to hear nothing but the garden, and close enough that nobody plans the day around the car.

The House
Terracotta render, tiled steps, a wrought-iron gate that stands open, and rooms that were added as they were needed.
The Rooms
Two of them are up under the roof, with the ridge beam showing and a rough stone gable at the end.
The Table
A long table under a lit canopy, two barbecues, a bar in the garden, and a kitchen that can feed sixteen without ceremony.
The Grounds
A private pool the length of the garden, open country beyond the wall, and nobody overlooking.
The Region
Murcia is the quiet corner of the Spanish coast — the one with the beaches and the golf but not the crowds.
